The online video series ‘Talk to the Driver’ was developed by CD Works for A. Lange & Söhne to deepen the brand’s links to the collector car world. In each episode, CEO Wilhelm Schmid meets a next-generation car collector to talk about the art of the automobile and the lasting fascination with mechanical objects. All episodes in the ongoing series are published on A. Lange & Söhne’s social media channels.

The second episode of ‘Talk to the Driver’ features Concours of Elegance Club Trophy winner Katie Forrest and her wonderful 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, which is affectionately known as Nellie.

In 2019, Porsche Design was appointed as the official timekeeper for the Ennstal-Classic hill climb and rally. To mark the occasion, the design studio released a limited-edition collectors’ watch – the Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Ennstal Classic 2019 Special Edition.

CD Works supported Porsche Design with high-quality content production about both the event and the limited-edition watch for the brand’s social media channels. Additionally, CD Works organised a road trip with the Porsche 911 Speedster Heritage Design Edition and the matching Porsche Design Chronograph prior to he sponsored live coverage of the Ennstal-Classic 2019 on Classic Driver’s website and social media channels.

CD Works supported the inaugural Fuori Concorso at Villa del Grumello on Lake Como and Fuori Concorso Monza at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan as a consultancy, content production unit and media partner through our sister publication Classic Driver. The editorial team produced high-quality articles and photographs prior and during the events to raise awareness, source cars for the concours from our international network and attract VIP guests. CD Works also delivered a preface for Fuori Concorso’s first book, Bentley – A Century of Elegance and Speed.

CD Works was commissioned by IWC Schaffhausen to produce live content about the IWC Racing Team and its star driver Bernd Schneider during the Arosa ClassicCar hill climb in 2019 for the brand’s news and social media channels. Operating with a team of photographers and on-location editors, CD Works produced additional high-quality photo and video content which was published as sponsored live coverage of the Arosa ClassicCar on Classic Driver’s website and social media channels.

Prior to the event, CD Works consulted the organisers of the Arosa ClassicCar in order to further improve the event’s profile, brand value, media visibility and reach within the international historic racing scene.

CD Works supported the development and production of Beautiful Machines, a luxurious coffee table book published by Gestalten about the most adored sports cars ever built. CD Works contributed to the project with contacts, photographs and a preface text. Additionally, CD Works supported Gestalten’s marketing efforts by increasing the awareness of the book within the international collector car scene through showcasing publications across Classic Driver’s website and social media channels.

The BMW Group took the occasion of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2019 to unveil the recreation of the BMW Garmisch, a classic concept car that was designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone and vanished after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1970. With the newly created car, BMW paid respect to one of Italy’s most influential car designers and added an exciting chapter to the company’s history.

CD Works was involved in the BMW Garmisch project as a consulting and content creation agency from the beginning and worked closely with BMW Group Head of Design Adrian van Hooydonk and his team. CD Works produced the full press material for BMW Group – including historical research and interviews, press releases and background stories, editorial photography, and the official launch film.

IWC Schaffhausen commissioned CW Works to raise awareness of the new IWC Racing Team and its star driver Karl Wenglinger. This specifically concerned the activities at the Arosa Classic Car hill climb race in 2018, which was covered live with high-quality editorial features and photography. The imagery and videos were shared throughout the weekend on Classic Driver’s website and social media channels, in addition to IWC’s PR and social media outlets.

As a teaser to the inaugural Grand Basel in 2018, CD Works produced an editorial feature and photo gallery of the unique Aston Martin Virage Zagato Shooting Brake – one of the show’s star cars – at landmark locations around Basel. The sponsored article was published on Classic Driver and across Grand Basel’s social media channels.

For Classic Driver’s 20th anniversary, CD Works teamed up with Q by Aston Martin to create a limited-edition Grand Tourer: the Aston Martin DB11 Classic Driver Edition. We were responsible for the design specification, communication and marketing strategy, entire content production, and the creation of a dedicated microsite

CD Works supported the development and production of this book as co-editor, supporting the conceptional phase, producing texts and photographs, and establishing contact with designers, studios, and high-profile collectors. The book was published by Gestalten and was praised by the press as a benchmark publication on concept cars and automotive design.
